Energetix helps existing buildings retrofit for less with Green Mark Incentive Scheme 2.0
In March 2021,
Building Construction Authority (BCA) launched the Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP) to set out the environmental sustainability ambitions and targets to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon Built Environment. As part of the SGBMP, BCA introduced the $63-million Green Mark Incentive Scheme for Existing Buildings 2.0 (GMIS-EB2.0) on 30 June 2022, with the objective to raise the energy performance of existing buildings and step up the pace to green 80% of our buildings by 2030.Energetix can support attainment of Green Mark certification and energy savings, lowering retrofit costs with GMIS-EM2.0. Some solutions to achieve this include the use of ACMV and intelligent lighting controls to improve energy efficiency.
The 30-year-old, 4-storey office DBS building was retrofitted with innovative technologies and design features, including over 1,000 square metres of solar panels on its rooftop, self-powered solar air-conditioning systems, exhaust fans and lap-posts. Collectively, these technologies reduce its energy consumption by 70%.
